TAAF Hall of Fame Inductee
Region 4 is proud to announce that Steve Melbourn, Trophy Club, will be inducted to the TAAF Hall of Fame on January 26, 2012. The TAAF Hall of Fame was created to honor men and women who have played a significant role in the growth and development of the Federation. "Coach Melbourn has been involved in TAAF Swimming for 20+ years as an athlete and a coach," says TAAF Swim Commissioner. "He inspires his swimmers every day. This honor is long overdue."
TAAF Male Athlete of the Year
Dr. Steve Wood, Weatherford Swim Team, was chosen as the 2012 TAAF Male Athlete of the Year. "Steve is positive example of sportsmanship," says Linda Williams, swim team coach. "Steve mentors younger swimmers not only in swimming, but in positive life choices. He is constantly encourging them to make healthy choices and to be their best." Dr. Wood holds numerous TAAF Winter and Summer Games of Texas records, as well as US Master's records. Dr. Wood will accept this honor on January 26, 2012 in College Station.
